24 & 25 Weeks!

Sorry for the delayed posts. I have gotten so busy with work and am so tired now that blogging has taken a backseat. I can't believe I'm posting these during week 27. I don't even think I I took a 26 weeks pic.

24 Weeks:

How far along? 24 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Didn't weigh this week.
Maternity clothes? still mixing and matching. But maternity bottoms all the time except on weekends.
Sleep: Heartburn has gotten pretty bad. This child has to hair.
Best moment this week: Enjoying time with Liam. It's so hard to imagine him not being an only child. Trying to soak up these moments.
Miss Anything? energy. Work is truly sucking all of the energy out of me. Not sure how I'm going to make it three more months!
Movement: yes, mostly at night!
Food cravings: Still McAlisters.
Have you started to show yet: Most definitely!
Labor Signs: very rare braxton hicks.
Symptoms: leg cramps at night, heartburn, and my feet are starting to get swollen every weekday.

Looking forward to: seeing Landon's nursery come together.

25 Weeks:

How far along? 25 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 30 lbs.
Maternity clothes? maternity bottoms all the time. Starting to wear more dresses for comfort.

Best moment this week: Seeing Landon on the ultrasound!!! He has tons of hair! Explains the heartburn from you know where.
Miss Anything? sleeping without waking and comfortably.
Movement: it's more rolls now instead of kicks. Feels so weird and different.

25 Weeks

In this photo I compared 25 Weeks to 10 Weeks in the same outfit. I love this top from Entourage who now have a Maternity Section!!!

How far along? 25 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I've gained 24lbs so far BLEH
Maternity clothes? Maternity pants are always on now. I have a few maxi skirts I wear and some dresses that I'll throw on that aren't' maternity but otherwise, it's always maternity.
Sleep: I'm a roller. I'll roll from side to side every night. My right hand falls asleep a lot and I was told by my doctor to start wearing a hand brace but I just haven't done it yet. It's so uncomfortable!
Best moment this week: The carpet in Olivia's nursery has been ripped up and my AWESOME husband has started putting down the new wood flooring. I can't wait to share pictures!!! Also, I literally just got a call from my Internal Medicine Doctor and he said all of my blood work came back and my HBA1c is 6.0 which is absolutely amazing!!! So very happy!!!!
Miss Anything? I miss my energy. I've gone back to zero energy starting around 2pm and it lasts until I go to bed.
Movement: A lot! I did have a very real panic attack one night when I woke up with low blood sugar and had to drink some juice and eat a spoonful of peanut butter. Usually, when I drink something cold, Olivia will kick a few times but this time there was no movement at all. I got back in bed and rolled from side to side trying to get her to move around some and just could not feel any kicks. I started sweating and freaking out a little. I sat up in bed and debated telling Robbie we needed to go to the Emergency Room. Instead I silently started praying. I laid back down and rolled a few more times and FINALLY I felt three small faint kicks. I've never been so scared but it's always good to know that God has everything under control!
Food cravings: No cravings really. I've been eating healthier and I'm still eating a lot of pickles HA
Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: Just swelling in my feet towards the end of the day.
Belly Button in or out? Still in.
Wedding rings on or off? Off at night.
Happy or Moody: HAPPY!
Looking forward to: We have an appointment next week for our 4D pictures and I'm so ready to see our little nugget again. We got a sneak peak of a 4D last appointment because my ultrasound tech is AWESOME but now we should be able to see more of Olivia. ALSO, Becca has an appointment on the same day and is only 20 minutes behind mine! How exciting!!!!

23 Weeks

How far along? 23 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 26 lbs.
Maternity clothes? most of the time. I'm still mixing it up. I always wear maternity pants to work now! Above is a regular shirt with maternity pants yet again :)
Sleep: Not great. Really bad leg cramps and heartburn at night. Also, getting up to pee multiple times a night. I really miss sleeping on my belly.
Best moment this week: Rhett feeling Landon kick. Every time Rhett would put his hand on my stomach Landon would stop kicking. He must have the soothing touch.
Miss Anything? sleep. I'm literally exhausted. Liam has been waking up so early too and the combination is not great.
Movement: All the time. I love it!
Food cravings: Still McAlisters. Hopefully that's not where the extra weight is coming from :)
Have you started to show yet: Most definitely!
Labor Signs: Braxton Hicks have started but I know it's from the stress of work plus all of the exercise from the huge stairs at work.
Symptoms: leg cramps at night, heartburn, and my feet are starting to get swollen every weekday. Stupid stairs.
Belly Button in or out? in betweeny
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody: happy and moody when I'm tired (so moody all the time?)
Looking forward to: Seeing Landon in 4D next week! Also getting further with the nursery. It's making such good progress.

Teaching and Pregnancy

It was great going back to work this week and seeing my teaching family. I really do work with amazing people. Going back I knew I would be tired but holy cow!!!! By the end of the week I was exhausted. I mean who wouldn't be after walking a flight of stairs roughly 30 times this week (my coworker has one of those exercise bracelets that tracks miles, steps and stairs), an open house that lasted almost 4 hours, and setting up a classroom.

I'd like to introduce you to my biggest nemesis this school year...the stairs :(  Yes, there is an elevator but it's halfway across the complex and takes just as much energy to walk there as it is to climb this beast.

This is look of my excitement when I got moments to sit down.

This preggo lady is definately going to need a chair or two this year. What makes chairs even better? Cute fabric. My mother and I did this!!

Here is a look at my classroom this year. I'm in love with minions, owls, mustaches, pink and teal. Luckily it kinda works?

The secret to a successful year while having pregnancy brain? All of my interactive notebook units organized in separate notebooks.

Here is my classroom pet. Her name is Miss Sally :) The students love her!

Most importantly...my 6th grade team. We are jam up!!! They are all so amazing and so fun to work with!

What we normally are like. I didn't say we weren't dysfunctional :)

HERE'S TO A BLESSED YEAR!!

22 Weeks

How far along? 22 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 20 lbs.
Maternity clothes? most of the time. Mixing it up for work. Above is a regular shirt with maternity pants.
Sleep: Having to use the bathroom 3-4 times a night plus leg and feet cramps is very tiring.
Best moment this week: Meeting all of my new students (180 kids!!) and watching Liam soak things in like a sponge.
Miss Anything? since I am so tired I would have to say sleep and energy.
Movement: Yes. A lot more at night.
Food cravings: McCalisters and milk.
Have you started to show yet: I have. I still have people come up and hesitantly ask me if I'm pregnant. I just stare at them.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: sore thighs and leg cramps at night. Also little varicose veins in my calves. Probably from all the stairs and walking at work.
Belly Button in or out? flat.
Wedding rings on or off? On and just now starting to get somewhat snug.
Happy or Moody: ummm...tired so kinda moody but I am very happy.
Looking forward to: Seeing Landon in 4 more weeks. It seems so far away. Also, looking forward to the weekend so I can rest up!

23 Weeks

How far along? 23 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Not sure. Haven't been to the doctor in a while and I refuse to weigh myself.
Maternity clothes? I just went shopping and got a ton of maternity clothes from Motherhood, Old Navy, and Target. However, I'm not wearing anything maternity above. It's kind of nice to still be able to wear my old clothes. (Denim Vest Link, White Dress Link)
Sleep: Sleeping has gotten better. I got 2 new pillows and now I find it more comfortable to sleep on my sides. I sleep with two pillows under my head and a king size pillow supporting my stomach.
Best moment this week: We finally decided on a dresser/changing table (picture below) for Olivia's nursery. It's 6 feet long and has so much storage! It's exactly what we wanted and the color the SAME exact color I've been trying to incorporate into her nursery and couldn't! YAY! We are going to paint the handles and get knobs for the doors. We are trying to decided between white or a cream color.
Miss Anything? I miss being able to get up from a sitting position easily. Whether I am getting out of my car, off the couch or out of the bed, I usually make a straining noise HA. If Robbie is home, he usually helps me off the couch. Otherwise, I'm on my own!
Movement: Lots and lots of movements!!! I keep telling Olivia to simmer down LOL.
Food cravings: I've been eating a ton of pickles but other than that nothing. I usually eat a ton of fried foods but now I get sick when I eat something fried.
Labor Signs: None.
Symptoms: Still having some swelling in my hands a feet. No other symptons!
Belly Button in or out? Still in.
Wedding rings on or off? Off at night.
Happy or Moody: HAPPY!
Looking forward to: My appointment Wednesday. We haven't seen Olivia in 6 weeks so we are so excited to get a sonogram!!

21 Weeks

How far along? 21 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 18 lbs.
Maternity clothes? More now than before. I'm mostly only comfortable in maternity clothes now.
Sleep: Not too bad. I started back to school this week for preplanning and I've been so tired that  I fall right out at night. The charlie horses have started now though so they wake me up once or twice a night.
Best moment this week: Seeing my work family. We have a few new members of our 6th grade team and they couldn't have been a better fit for our team!
Miss Anything? Not really. Energy goes pretty fast some days but I'm enjoying this pregnancy so much more than the last. Grateful!
Movement: Yes! He kicked so hard last night that I jolted up :)
Food cravings: McCalisters and wings still.
Have you started to show yet: I feel like I look way further along than I am. All of the walking and stairs at school have really helped gravity pull my stomach out more.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: sore thighs and leg cramps at night.
Belly Button in or out? flat!
Wedding rings on or off? On and just now starting to get somewhat snug.
Happy or Moody: Happy this week. I've had way fever moody moments this week. I know Rhett is grateful.
Looking forward to: Finishing up Liam's room and starting on the nursery! I do have a doctor appointment this week but it includes having my blood drawn so I have to admit I'm not that excited especially since it doesn't include an ultrasound.

Busy as a Bee

This week has been so crazy busy. Trying to get everything done before I have to go back to work in three days has been hard. The fact that I'm nesting doesn't help :) It will all get done in time though. I'm so excited to see my school family this upcoming week! Here's a peek at what was a busy crazy week :)

Liam and Daddy on his new trampoline. Driving this across town in the back of a truck was scary. Never again :)

Liam and his sweet cousins building a train track. He loves playing with them.

Free tea day at my biggest craving. Best tea ever!

Lunch date with the best sister! She is finally back in Georgia and only an hour away. It's the closet we've ever been :)

Starting Liam's big boy room! Still not all the way done but so close.

Hubby work event. Can you count two bowling balls?

Liam at the water park. He had soooo much fun!

One more :)

Here's hopefully to a calmer yet fun week ahead!

20 Weeks

Halfway There!

Sorry that I'm lagging on here. A little behind. Life has gotten so busy this week but will post about this week soon :)

How far along? 20 weeks! I can't believe I'm halfway there!
Total weight gain/loss: 12 lbs.
Maternity clothes? When I go out I will wear maternity pieces but when I'm just lounging around its non-maternity clothes. In the picture above, I am wearing colored skinnies from Motherhood Maternity and a maternity top from Target.
Sleep: so so. It's getting hard to flip from side to side now.
Best moment this week: Seeing my sister! She has moved back to Georgia and I'm so excited! Also, taking Liam to the water park today :)
Miss Anything? Energy still. I get so tired quickly. Other than that nothing :)
Movement: Yes! I look forward to it being more regular which I know will be soon as he continues to grow.
Food cravings: McCalisters, Chinese, and wings.
Have you started to show yet: oh yes!
Labor Signs: Nope
Symptoms: sore back and stomach!
Belly Button in or out? flatty
Wedding rings on or off? On and still loose.
Happy or Moody: Kind of moody. School is about to start back next week and I'm getting anxious thinking about all the things I still need to do that haven't gotten done over summer break.
Looking forward to: Finishing up Liam's big boy room. That's one of the main reasons I've been so busy. Also, seeing my work family on Tuesday!!

21 Weeks

How far along? 21 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 14lbs
Maternity clothes? I'm always in my maternity jeans seen above! They were the first maternity clothing item I bought and I'm surprised they still fit!
Sleep: Still pretty crappy. I wake up every time I flip over and can't really get comfortable on my sides. I started sleeping at more of a sitting up position but my neck and shoulders get sore from that. Still need to order a pregnancy pillow!!! Also, my hands have been falling asleep at night and I'm hoping its from how awkwardly I'm sleeping and not Diabetes related.
Best moment this week: I went to a Revival with my Dad, Uncle and Aunt this week and it was such a blessing. It was at an old WWII camp ground with old bunk houses and an open area for worshiping. Afterward, we had homemade ice cream and boiled peanuts (they must have known I was coming - perfect pregnancy foods). Such a fun night!
Miss Anything? I miss cold weather every time is step outside. It's usually hot this time of year but Lord help me, it's hotter when your pregnant!!!
Movement: This is part of my best moment of the week also! I am so excited about all the movement I've felt! Olivia usually kicks me when I lay down at night but I've heard that's normal. I can't wait to feel harder kicks and more frequent kicks.
Food cravings: I never really crave anything. I liked eating wings last week and I have started eating a lot of dill pickles (stereotype is true!) I still like eating a lot of fried foods, mainly french fries. Nothing weird yet.
Have you started to show yet: Yep! Getting rounder everyday.
Labor Signs: Nope.
Symptoms: SWELLING! My feet have started to swell. I've been on my feet in the heat the past few days so I know it's definitely going to happen. I guess I didn't expect it so soon! First time mommy-to-be knows nothing HA.
Belly Button in or out? Still in.
Wedding rings on or off? Off when I come in from outside. So much swelling in the South Georgia heat.
Happy or Moody: Happy. Always happy!
Looking forward to: Being off next week. Robbie and I took off Wednesday through Sunday. It's going to be awesome to do nothing or do whatever we want to do!!!!

Play Date

Well I'd like to say that our momma son play date day was wonderful but then that would be silly ;) We did have a few good moments here and there but overall it was a learning experience while juggling terrible twos, teething, and the South Georgia heat.

We started off the morning going to the park which Liam normally loves. However, when we got there all he wanted was for me to hold him. Every time I tried to put him down it got worse and let me tell you this little one is heavy. I swear they are lying when they say he is only in the 30th percentile for weight. I can't imagine carrying even a 32% toddler. So we called it quits and headed home. We watched a little Mickey before taking our nap in our toddler bed for the first time. The fact that he was so tired and already irritable didn't help. However, after playing with his hair he was out in less than 5 minutes. As I walked out of his room, I couldn't help but tear up a little at how much he has grown. I snapped a couple pictures so I could send them to Rhett.

After our nap, Liam decided he wanted to go outside for a walk. As soon as we stepped out of the door he told me that it was hot and wanted me to hold him. Taking a walk during the heat of the day in South Georgia while holding a toddler...um no. So with many tears from Liam we came back inside. Did I mention he is extremely heavy?

A little later we went to Georgia Southern to visit the raptor center so Liam could walk around and see the birds of prey then watch the raptor show. Sadly we realized after walking the whole trail that there were no birds out at all. I thought that maybe they were inside for the show but little did I know, there aren't birds out there in the summer. Liam did get to climb inside the life size eagle nest....so tiny in comparison.

After less than 8 minutes we were hot and sweaty so we ventured back in to wait for the raptor show. He did love looking at the mini aquarium of fish and turtles.
After waiting about 8 minutes for the doors to open to start the show we went in and waited about 10 more minutes. It's really hard for this two year old to sit still that long but he did a great job. He only had enough patience for 3 of the 7 creatures before he yelled bye bye. Considering he waited almost 20 mins before the show, I'd say he did fairly well. He loved when the man would come by and show him the creatures up close. He even pet a fat desert lizard. Overall it was an okay date day but I can definitely tell you that I look forward to fall with cooler temperatures. A lot of today would have been better had it been cooler outside. Soon though. Soon :)

19 Weeks

How far along? 19 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: 12 lbs.
Maternity clothes? When I go out I will wear maternity pieces but when I'm just lounging around its non-maternity clothes. In the picture above, I am wearing colored skinnies from motherhood maternity and a regular top.
Sleep: Not too bad, but I reallllly (did you understand how much just then?) miss sleeping on my stomach. My body subconsciously tries in the night to flip over but my stomach now prevents it from happening.
Best moment this week: Finally figuring out how I want to do Landon's nursery. It's almost embarrassing how many times I changed my mind. It was also great moving everything out of his soon to be room. I am so grateful for my in law's help moving it all. Of course Rhett's as well :)
Miss Anything? Energy the last couple of days. I have felt first trimester tired the last few days. Hoping to snap out of it soon.
Movement: Most definitely! And I can confirm what I thought I had been feeling the last two weeks was Landon. I absolutely love feeling him move. Unfortunately I hated being pregnant last time with Liam. I was so insecure about so many things that I could never enjoy it. However, I can say that the movements last time were my favorite. That was the only thing I missed after Liam was born. Luckily I can say that I enjoy this pregnancy along with the movements.
Food cravings: Are you ready? Wings, sandwiches (mainly McCalisters because I crave their sweet tea as well), McDonald's fries with ketchup, peanut butter toast with bananas, and as of a few hours ago...Chinese. Yes, I know....WOW ;-)
Have you started to show yet: Yes. I feel like I all of sudden look 30 weeks pregnant.
Labor Signs: No, thank goodness.
Symptoms: None at all and I'm grateful!
Belly Button in or out? In-betweeny?
Wedding rings on or off? On and still loose.
Happy or Moody: Happy mainly but with an occasional mood swing, but overall happy.
Looking forward to: My play date with Liam tomorrow. As excited as I am about Landon's arrival, it's hard to think about not being able to do things whenever I want with just Liam. Trying to savor all of the Liam moments while I can. Will hopefully post about our date soon.

Yum :)

20 Week Appointment

Yesterday, I had my 20 week appointment. I didn't get an ultrasound which bummed us out but it was nice to hear, once again, how good we are doing! My OB was pleased with my Perinatology appointment and read off the list of things they want me to do in the coming weeks. I had to get some blood drawn yesterday and for some reason, I can't remember why they did that :/ *Pregnancy Brain is no joke* I've got to have an EKG just to make sure my heart is working properly. I've got to do a 24-hour urine test. Gross. They are checking the protein in my urine *Diabetes thing* They will be checking my kidneys eventually just to make sure they are still functioning properly also. My next appointment isn't until August 6th, so this will be the longest I've gone without seeing a doctor so far! My dad works at a college in town that has a sonographer program so I miiiiiight see if he can sneak me in for a free ultrasound (just kidding). I'll have gone 6 weeks without seeing Olivia and that just feels weird to me!
Also, starting at 28 weeks I'll start going in every week for an ultrasound and get a rating on a scale of 1-8 of how Olivia is doing/developing. They want us to score 8s every time and they said it isn't hard to get perfect scores so fingers crossed!
WE ARE HALFWAY THERE!!!

Landon's Anatomy Scan

My morning was made more than once...happy sigh. I was excited that Rhett got to come see Landon today! With Liam, Rhett was back in school full time and we were able to work it out for him to come to all of the doctors appointments and ultrasounds with me. This time Rhett is working full time so today was his first time meeting Landon. I could tell he loved it as much as he did with Liam's ultrasounds which melted my heart. Landon's anatomy scan showed he was 100% healthy! Always a big sigh of relief. He is growing right on target. According to the doctor's calculations he is suppose to be 18 weeks 6 days and he measured right down to the exact day. He weighed in at 9 ounces which is healthy and so exciting! We got to see him suck his thumb, see his fast beating heart, see his thick, fat feet like his brother's, and watch him kick. It's always so strange to watch them kick and not feel it. I have been feeling a kick every now and then but I found out why its not been as frequent. Just like with Liam, Landon's placenta is in the front of my stomach which provides padding for his movements. That explains why I didn't feel him any sooner like I was told I would. I think I'm grateful for the anterior placenta though :) Landon apparently moves a ton! He never stopped moving today. Lots of kicks and rolls. We got to have a quick 4D glance at him today which was so exciting. She warned me that he would look like a skeleton because he wasn't very plump (and he did appear slightly alien at times especially when he opened his eyes) but we got some sweet super normal shots of him. My favorite thing today though was actually seeing him smile twice.....heart melted.

His leg and thick foot.

Smooshing his face into the placenta and that little arm and hand :)

His sweet face :)

It was so sweet because he apparently was tired at the end of the ultrasound. In 4D he rolled over on his side and used the placenta as a pillow. So tender. I met with Dr. Oldham after the ultrasound and he said everything looked great. He is referring me to a respiratory doctor, the same one who saw me for my asthma the day after I delivered Liam (Asthma story on my 18 week update post) for the asthma. It got way better with the inhaler he prescribed but after two days of not using it, I was back coughing again. He doesn't want me to have to take a rescue inhaler everyday for the rest of my pregnancy which I agree with big time since I'm not big on taking medicine ever, even when not pregnant. We are hoping this Dr will be able to come up with a safe solution. Other than that little annoyance with my lungs I am also healthy. I am grateful that God is watching over Landon and I during this pregnancy.
